WithOneSeed achieves Gold Standard certification
WithOneSeed has become the first ever internationally certified afforestation/reforestation program under the voluntary carbon market in Timor-Leste. The Gold Standard certification process has taken nearly two years and will mean the carbon stored in the trees planted in Baguia, Timor-Leste will be able to be sold on the international market. It is project that the program will generate of 520,000 tonnes of carbon generating a potential $6m into the Baguia and Timor-Leste economy.
The first certificates will go on sale in the next month. These will be unique in that they are the very first internationally certified ‘social carbon’ certificates available from Timor-Leste. A call for an ‘expression of interest’ will made and people wishing to be involved in this exciting program will be able to register their interest.
