Collecting oral histories
Oral histories support WithOneSeed’s Open education cultural resource development.
At the Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne, today WithOneSeed filmed Indigenous Elder Aunty Dot Peters of the Wurundjeri, demonstrating her cultural craft of making an eel trap out of tall spike rush. Aunty Dot is one of the few people with the knowledge of how to make eel traps and the workshop was a great way of passing on this traditional skill.
WithOneSeed is producing oral history videos of Elders in both Australia and Timor Leste to support curriculum resources being developed on topics of culture, environment and citizenship.
