Climate change hits WithOneSeed
A landslide has badly damaged WithOneSeed’s little red Drover. The nursery vehicle was hit this week by falling trees when the earth gave way. No one was injured.
The landslide highlights the importance of planting trees to hold the earth in place and demonstrates just another impact of climate change on these communities.
The vehicle supports WithOneSeed’s staff to manage the 3 nurseries, established over the last 18 months, to transport saplings and equipment over a large geographical area in Baguia Timor Leste, which would otherwise be up to a 3 hour walk.
To date the nurseries have propagated and distributed over 40,000 saplings to subsistence farmers who are planting and maintaining the trees as part of the WithOneSeed initiative.
